Graduate Technical Sales Representative – Castleford, Yorkshire

An opportunity has arisen for Graduate Technical Sales Representative to join the team at our Castleford (Yorkshire) Depot.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will be required to provide an efficient and effective support service to the regional sales team, whilst acting as a communication link between the sales team and customers within the North West region.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Developing a balance of technical, commercial and interpersonal skills
  • Receiving hands on training within various areas of the business including our yard, Engineering Centre, Head Office and various Depots
  • Working alongside/shadowing experienced sales staff
  • Providing sales support to the Technical Sales Team including project logging, preparing quotations and compiling design requests
  • Sales research and co-ordination of sales leads
  • Assisting experienced Technical Sales Representatives in their assigned territories to deliver profitable growth, through development of orders from both new and existing accounts
  • Assisting with the supply of shoring equipment and temporary works services to construction companies
  • Managing appointments, schedules and time by effective planning of calls, travel and meetings
  • Offering feedback regarding Company image, competitiveness, unexploited opportunities, technological developments, competitors, customer businesses developments/ activities

The core skill requirements of this role are:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Motivated self-starter with good administration and organisational skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take up new challenges.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree – preferably in Civil Engineering or Construction related however, all disciplines will be considered;
  • A year or more experience within a sales environment would be preferable.
  • The role would ideally suit a recent Graduate and comes with progression opportunities for the right candidate.
