MGF (Trench Construction Systems) Ltd have recently moved into new premises at Ashton in Makerfield, near Wigan, continuing the businesses ongoing expansion plans. The 3-acre site will be home to Head Office and will also house the Manufacturing Division, while the Astley depot will remain as the hire centre for the Northwest.

Central activities at the Ashton site will include manufacturing, capital sales, design and training as well as providing support to the five regional hire depots. The move will also allow the refurbishment of the Astley hire depot to facilitate the continued expansion into Safety Services equipment (gas detectors, safety harnesses, breathing apparatus etc.).

The company has steadily grown since it was set up over 20 years ago, but the last few years has seen increased progress to meet the ever increasing needs of the Construction Industry.

Managing Director, Michael O’Hara, believes the acquisition of the new premises is a further milestone in the company’s continuing success: "The significantly larger 12,000 sq ft workshop allows us to increase our manufacturing capability as well as maintain higher stock levels to meet customer demands. When combined with our own fleet of trucks, including 3 articulated wagons, we can efficiently distribute to our network of depots, reducing response time for the customer."

The move will also enable MGF to meet the growing industry need for bespoke training programmes in the safe use of shoring and safety equipment with a state of the art training facility. A multimedia training room combines with more than adequate land to provide comprehensive classroom and practical training on the installation of shoring equipment.
