Drag Boxes

MGF manufacture and supply seven sizes of drag box to suit a wide variety of trench depths and pipe lengths.  Drag Boxes provide a fast and effective method of pipelaying in stable ground conditions where they act as a shield in the event of trench wall instability.

Installation of the Drag Box is achieved by placing the box in a pre-dug trench. The trench is then progressed by excavating ahead of the box and dragging the box forward by pulling on the front strut. As a general guide to the selection of a suitable excavator, the weight of the excavator should be at least 5 times the weight of the drag box.
