Hire Desk Controller- Astley, Manchester

MGF are currently seeking to recruit a Hire Desk Controller to join the Hire Desk team at our Depot in Astley.

As a Hire Desk Controller, your main responsibility will be to provide an efficient and effective general administrative service to the Hire Desk.

Reporting directly to the Hire Desk Manager, the responsibilities of this position are:

  • Assisting the Hire Desk team with their activities, to include; dealing with enquiries and converting them into hires, planning of transport for deliveries and collections, Calculation and supply of quotes, dealing with damages
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries and routine correspondence
  • To record telephone messages accurately and ensure they are delivered to the relevant person timely
  • To receive and assist visitors as required
  • General administration support to the team, including filing, photocopying, research and producing correspondence
  • Sales administration/co-ordination – supporting the Hire Desk, Depot Manager and the Technical Sales Representatives in preparation of quotations, designs, follow ups, CRM administration, mail shots, etc.

The core skill requirements of this role are;

  • Educated to ‘A’ Level standard or equivalent
  • A professional manner with good communication and people skills
  • PC literate with experience of Microsoft Systems
  • Ability to prioritise work load and work to tight deadlines
  • Local area knowledge for the depot areas served
  • Motivated self-starter with good administration, time management and organisation skills
